1:1 CIC Summer Sessions
1:1 CIC Summer Sessions
This summer, Canine Inspired Change is offering individualized 1:1 sessions designed to support each student’s unique interests, goals, and learning style all alongside one of our incredible dog trainers and therapy dogs.
During each 1-hour session at CIC HQ in St. Paul, your child will work directly with one of our lead trainers and a CIC therapy dog in a calm, supportive environment. These sessions are inspired by the same curriculum we use in our group programs, but adapted to best fit the student in front of us.
Because every student is different, no two sessions look exactly the same. Activities may include:
Interactive games that engage the dogs’ noses, eyes, and ears
Mindfulness and body regulation exercises for both humans and dogs
Active skills based dog training and games
Student-friendly breathing exercises and guided meditations
Doggy massage and calming connection activities
Learning about canine body language and how it relates to human emotions
Practicing CIC skills with added challenges and individualized support
Our trainers adjust each session based on the student’s needs, interests, energy level, and goals — allowing for a flexible, personalized experience.
Program Options
We recommend participating in a 4–6 week series, meeting once per week for one hour. Consistency helps students and dogs build familiarity, confidence, and stronger connections over time. We understand summer schedules can be busy, though, and are happy to work around vacations or planned breaks when possible.
Not ready for a full series? We also offer flexible à la carte sessions that can be scheduled individually based on your availability.
Parent & Guardian Information
For the first session, we ask that a parent or guardian remain in the training space for the duration of the session to help provide support as needed and allow the trainer time to get to know your child. After the first session, we have a comfortable office area at CIC HQ where parents and guardians are welcome to work remotely using our Wi-Fi, read, or relax during the sessions.
Important Note
While CIC incorporates many activities that support emotional awareness, self-regulation, and overall well-being, we are not therapists or mental health providers. Our curriculum has been developed and reviewed with input from mental health professionals, but our team members are dog trainers with a passion for supporting mental wellness through human-animal connection.
These sessions are designed to complement — not replace — mental health care or therapeutic services.
Pricing
